Rose Maylin
Parish Nursing

Rose Maylin, a member at our Salisbury site, is a qualified nurse with a huge heart for serving the community.  Finance permitting, Rose is looking at starting to serve as a Parish Nurse in July. She writes:

Parish Nursing is whole person health care encompassing body, mind and spirit, to encourage optimum healthy living. It is delivered by registered nurses who have done extra training and are employed by their churches.

I will be concentrating on serving the Bemerton Heath community in a number of ways, offering health education and promotion, support and liaison with other agencies as well as offering spiritual support and prayer. This could include visiting people in their homes or in hospital, attending appointments with them, giving support to families and people at the end of life, among other things. All ages and differing needs welcome!

You can help by praying  for me (please!), giving financially to the Service via the church account (just mark it "parish nursing"), offering to be a volunteer as I'll need some help visiting people or helping with events a little way down the line, help with IT , designing leaflets and VERY IMPORTANTLY,  anyone who is gifted in or enjoys writing grant applications will be welcomed with open arms!

Isaiah 50 verse 4 says: “The Sovereign Lord has given me a well-instructed tongue, to know the word that sustains the weary”.

I want to help bring the fullness of life of the Kingdom of God to the community. Will you join me?

Much love,

Final word from Simon

After Rose shared about Parish Nursing many have asked how they can give a one-off or a regular gift. The cost to have a Parish Nurse is around £20,000 per year.

If you wish to give, the bank details are the normal Grace Church account, but please mark it as ‘Parish Nursing’:
