Operation Chocolate Orange (Christmas Hampers)

Operation Chocolate Orange’ is an opportunity for Grace Church to bless the local community through the delivery of quality hampers to both individuals and families that are in need, across Salisbury, Amesbury and our local communities.

I’m sure you can  think of people who live close to you  who are finding it particularly difficult financially this year, and although we can’t solve all their problems this does give us a wonderful opportunity to show that they are both loved and cared for by a God who knows what they’re going through.

It also gives the church a great opportunity to build links with other organisations who also have a heart for those in need. And so, for that reason we have chosen to partner with the Trussell Trust, who regularly deliver parcels to people in need, and also with the Council as they work to support vulnerable people in the area. Together we’re confident that we can make a real impact in our communities this Christmas.

So, what’s to be done and how can you help?  Since launching the Operation last week we’ve started to collect the items that we want to put in these hampers and are putting a plan together to deliver them around the 19th December to tie in with Grace Church’s carol service on the 20th. This will give us an opportunity to drop in an invite to the service in each hamper.

If you’d like to be a part of Operation Chocolate Orange there are five ways you can get involved:

 1.  You can help source items to go in the hampers (see the list at the bottom of this blog)

 2.  You can help deliver the hampers

Please do let either me, Rich, know ( or the church office ( We aim to put together at least 40 hampers, so there is plenty to do.

 3.  If you’re aware of anyone who could benefit from receiving a hamper then please let us know. We’ll do our best to see that they receive something nice this Christmas.

 4.  Please pray that we can identify those most in need in our communities and we can be a blessing to them.

 5.  You can give.  Mark your gift as "Chocolate Orange" to Grace Church Salisbury: Account number: 01589315, sort code 30-93-25

Many thanks for all your support, it’s been great to see people pulling together to make it happen already. Let’s pray Operation Chocolate Orange will be a great success.

God bless,

Rich Millidge
