Operation Chocolate Orange Update

** A BLOG BY RICH MILLIDGE **

Hi everyone,

I just thought I would give you a quick update on where we are with Operation Chocolate Orange as we are closing in on the delivery of the hampers this weekend. We have now received everything we need to deliver at least 40 hampers, with one outstanding item and that is the cheeses which we hope to source from the market cheese man on Thursday.

Probably two thirds of these hampers are going to families in our communities, the remainder to single people, and they include people from Tidworth, Amesbury, Stratford sub-Castle, the Friary and Bemerton Heath. On Monday night we delivered Christmas cards to the majority of those that we were planning to deliver to, so that we could give them all chance to agree a delivery time, and we’ve had some heart-warming responses already which has been great.

I think the biggest request at this point is to please pray for the successful delivery of all the hampers, that they end up in the hands of the right people and that they’re all received well. As each hamper will have a leaflet inviting them to the on-line carol service and to the Alpha course running in January (starting Wed 20th) so please also play that they take that extra step and tune in.

So, a big thank you to all that have given, or collected items, or given money to support the buying of items, it’s been great to see so many people from the church get involved. And of course, a thank you to the team of helpers that will be delivering the hampers over the next few days.

Anyway, I thought I would leave you with some pictures of our Operation HQ, Christmas in our house has never been quite like this!

All the best

Rich
