IMPORTANT GRACE CHURCH ANNOUNCEMENT.
As you may have seen on the news, Boris Johnson has briefed the nation on the latest measures that the Government would like us to take to help manage the national Coronavirus situation.
Amongst other things it was said, "now is the time for everyone to stop non-essential contact with others and non-essential travel" and that we should all avoid all social gatherings and social contact.
He has also asked people to work from home wherever possible.
We want to (a) adhere to the authorities that God has put over us, and (b) communicate quickly and clearly what our response is.
So, in order to comply with this guidance, with immediate effect (17.03.2020) Grace Church has cancelled all meetings IN THEIR CURRENT FORMAT including Sunday mornings, Community Groups, prayer meetings and everything else, and has closed the church office until further notice, with staff working at home.
The reason we say we will stop meetings 'in their current format' is that we will still very much be operating as a church - loving God, loving one another and loving our neighbours.
For example, we will be using on-line resources to 'meet' together on Sunday morning, and having different creative ways for us to still be a church family and to connect with one another - please keep an eye out for more details of this over the coming days.
This is THE time for the church to step forward not back. In prayer. In love for our neighbours. In not giving into fear.
God is sovereign - he works out ALL things for His glory and our good, and is with us through difficult situations.
Let's all be on the front foot to care for one another wherever we can.
None of this is taking our Heavenly Father by surprise. WE ARE SAFE IN HIS HANDS.
He can use this time for His purposes in our lives, our church and our nation.
Our midweek groups are an opportunity to connect with others in the church. We meet in homes to grow as disciples of Jesus through exploring the Bible, worship and praying for one another.
We have a number of groups that meet either during the daytime or in the evening, in a variety of locations across the city of Salisbury, and in Amesbury and Wilton. We hope that you will find a group where you will feel at home.
Our Community Groups meet every other week, at different times and on different days.
They're a great place to make friends, grow in faith and connect with the life of the church. Our groups reflect the diversity of Grace Church and are made up of people from all ages and stages of life.
“Only if you are part of a community of believers seeking to resemble, serve and love Jesus will you ever get to know Him and grow into His likeness" - Tim Keller
